Troop 673 is chartered to St. Cecilia Catholic Community by the Boy Scouts of America.
Ours is a Catholic troop on the west side of Houston, Texas where active faith and Christian principles are integral to our program. We implement a scouts-run Patrol System and are focused on an active outdoor program. Our scouts develop responsibility, citizenship and leadership skills while most importantly having plenty of fun.
The Trail To Eagle Program has been developed out of our own successful experience at 673. It is a four-year program that is flexible to the needs of individuals but provides a clear path for the scouts. A New Scout Program is designed to get most scouts to First Class rank in about 12 months. A balanced Merit Badge Program combined with leadership and service opportunities takes them through Star, Life and Eagle ranks with a true sense of achievement.
We expect parent participation and commitment to maintain a strong program for our scouts. Troop 673 is recognized by the BSA as a "Quality Unit," and that requires active support from parents. There are a wide range of tasks required to keep the troop functioning, so one can always find something of interest as a way to contribute. If everyone does a little, a lot gets done.
Troop 673 conducts its meetings on the second floor of the 911 Bunker Hill Building, dedicated as the permanent scouting headquarters, located across the street from the St. Cecilia athletic field. If traveling via the Katy Freeway, exit Bunker Hill and turn south to drive about 3 blocks. 911 Bunker Hill is an office building just past the bowling alley.
